I Can't Help "Fall"ing In Love With You
We can’t help loving this time of the year; the snug taste of pumpkin spice has reappeared, our favorite cozy sweaters have resurfaced as evenings become cooler, and our hearts just feel warmer now that the autumn season has finally returned. We also can’t help to look back to one of our favorite fall weddings: Kaitlyn and Kevin’s Vail Wedding.
They say rain on your wedding day brings good luck! Kaitlyn and Kevin had plenty of luck to share on their rainy September wedding at the Vail Golf Club wedding island. But the weather couldn’t dampen the mood for either of these love birds or their guests. As the rain came down, the groom headed to his first look with his bride on a pathway lined with aspen trees, their bright yellow leaves falling to the ground around him. With the mention of the persistent rain on his wedding day, the groom responded, “You either have a good time or a good story. In this case, we’ll have both!”
Guests gathered under umbrellas and watched this lovely couple say their I Do’s on a secluded island on the golf course. As the rain fell harder and harder during their ceremony, the couple couldn’t help but laugh and take a moment to pause and commemorate the moment by capturing a selfie of themselves and their guests in the ridiculous downpour. The bride, ever a positive person, chalked the rain up to a visit from her mother, looking down on them from heaven and crying tears of joy. The ceremony and reception were styled to compliment the brilliance of the yellow aspen trees with bold jewel tones of burgundy dahlias, hues of fuchsia and orange roses, purple anemones and accents of thistle and sorbet garden roses thanks to Statice Floral Design.
When the clouds finally broke, the couple headed out with their incredibly talented photographer, Cassie Rosch, who captured epic shots of the stunning couple. The clouds lifted and exposed newly fallen snow on the mountain top, a fitting nod to the coming winter to the bride and groom who love to ski. This beautiful, salt of the earth couple, who love all things dealing with adventure and nature, fell in love with Vail and knew they had to get married in this storybook mountain town.
Following the ceremony, guests headed into the Gore Range Room for dinner and dancing, but not before warming up with spiked coffee, cider, and hot cocoa before a harvest feast provided by Footers Catering. Just when the rain stopped, the party was just getting started, and guests crowded the dance floor and a few even ended up dancing on tables as DJ Ripm Entertainment’s DJ Danger lit up the night. As F. Scott Fitzgerald once said, “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall,” and we were so happy to be a part of the beginning of the K Lamb’s journey together. We love looking back to this incredible day, as did Couture Colorado, which featured the wedding last November, and hope for all the best for this incredible couple.
