Tamra + Dustin’s New Years Eve celebration was styled in an ‘Old Hollywood’ brat pack meets Great Gatsby mood. From the moment this woman walked in to my office, I fell in love with her straight away. She was classy and kind, stylish but understated and exhumed a certain Audrey Hepburn/Grace Kelly vibe that stole my heart. Held at the historic Grant Humphries Mansion, guests arrived to find the mansion lit up in candlelight offset by the New Year’s Eve sky, and were greeted with pre-ceremony appetizers and rose by Occasions Catering. The intimate evening ceremony took place on the main floor of the mansion, in front of a roaring fireplace, embellished by Prema Style with multi level candles, greenery and delicate yet textured asymmetrical floral clusters in the bride’s pallet, featuring shades of mauve, lavender, iris and eggplant The bride expected to walk down he aisle to the tune ‘Trumpet Voluntary’ plated by A Music Plus’ string quartet, but the groom had different plans for her big entrance. As Tamra ward walked down the grand staircase of the Grant Humphries mansion, she was surprised to find some 13 of her best male friends serenading her to a custom re-write of the song ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ as a surprise from her groom. With an all-kid bridal party ::swoon:: the groom’s 3 children served as the couple’s Maid of Honor and best men, and, just before the couple said their own vows to each other, the family shared wedding vows connecting them all as a new family. The couple cut a four tiered wedding cake by Gateaux Bakery, modeled after the design of the bride’s Peter Langer gown, which donned the custom ‘W’ logo created by Platypus Papers. During a moving wedding ceremony, guests recited as a congregation the words of William Shakespeare, and after, all enjoyed an action station style reception dinner before moving downstairs to the custom designed “House of W” Speakeasy. The Mannequin Band and Occasions Catering staff helped with our 1920s emersion by singing and serving in flapper outfits and served late night snacks and distributed New Years amenities on cigarette girl trays. Guests enjoyed a whiskey tasting station and custom barrel aged Manhattan cocktail from Woody Creek Distillers, and mingled on a speakeasy lounge with feature wall of fabric covered antique books, Edison bulb lamps, teardrop chandelier and finished with family heirloom photos, thanks to Amora Event Group. Just before the stroke of midnight, the party moved upstairs for cake, champagne & countdown to midnight, as the lovely ladies from the band led guests in a piano sing a long of Auld Lang Syne, as guests sang from lyrics provided on wooden bobbins. The bride + groom’s grand exit path was lighted by guests holding vigil candles as the couple headed for their getaway car. Truly, a New Year’s celebration never to be forgotten.
