Award Winning NYE Wedding by Total Imagination Events
It seems like it was just yesterday when we were celebrating Tamra and Dustin’s elegant and intimate New Year’s Eve wedding, but we now have even more reason to raise a glass and toast this fabulous event. The beautiful NYE Old Hollywood Speakeasy Celebration was just recently honored at the 2019 Colorado Expression Confetti Events Awards for Best Wedding (under $1,000 per guest) and Best Overall Event (under $1,000 per guest) as well as at the 2018 IDEA Denver Best Wedding from the International Live Events Association (ILEA) Denver.. Check out our Total Imagination Events team celebrating our wins at the Confetti Awards.
What made this opulent wedding stand out was its ‘Old Hollywood’ brat pack meets Great Gatsby mood. Taking place at the historic Grant-Humphreys Mansion, guests were transported back to the 1920s. The intimate ceremony ensued on the main floor of the mansion, in front of a roaring fireplace, embellished by Prema Style with multi-level candles, greenery, and delicate yet textured asymmetrical floral clusters in the bride’s palette of mauve, lavender, iris, and eggplant.
After Tamra and Dustin shared their vows, they and their guests enjoyed an action station style reception dinner before moving downstairs to their custom designed “House of W” Speakeasy. The Mannequin Band and the Occasions Catering staff helped immerse our guests into the 1920s by singing and serving in classic flapper outfits while serving late night snacks and distributing New Year’s amenities on cigarette girl trays. Guests were able to enjoy a whiskey tasting station and a custom barrel aged Manhattan cocktail from Woody Creek Distillers while mingling in a speakeasy styled lounge styled fabric covered antique books, Edison bulb lamps, a teardrop chandelier, and finished with family heirloom photos, thanks to the Amora Event Group.
Before the stroke of midnight, the party moved upstairs for cake and champagne before celebrating the coming of a new year. The lovely ladies of the band led guests in singing Auld Lang Syne and guests were able to follow along from lyrics provided on wooden bobbins. The bride and groom’s grand exit path was lighted by guests holding vigil candles as the couple headed for their getaway car. This was truly a New Year’s celebration never to be forgotten.
