The Sextons By The Seaside — An Oceanfront Romance
Oh, Mexico
It sounds so sweet with
the sun sinkin’ low
The moons so bright,
Like to light up the night.
Make everything alright.
We love letting our memories drift back to the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico where two short years ago, Tami + Mike tied the knot. We love this girl’s style – running away with a large handful of her most fun and adventurous friends and family and creating an unforgettable wedding weekend. Looking through the incredible photographs Kisa Conrad Photography captured during this weekend brings back all the sweet memories.
Guests arrived to the newly built modern-luxury resort, the Royalton Rivera Maya, to kick off the wedding weekend and were treated by the bride and groom to a welcome catamaran, snorkeling, and sunset tour to kick off the festivities of the weekend. The day of the wedding, the bride and her daughter and soon to be step daughters pampered and primed in the spa, while the groom took in some rays with the boys.
The weather had been threatening their ocean front vision all day, but especially to accommodate the couple, the resort upgraded them to an oceanfront presidential two bedroom suite to ensure they had the best possible location for first look and to access the beach-front wedding site. We decided to push through the impending rain clouds for the ceremony and cocktail hour so that the couple could be married in their sea-side paradise. Simple décor of pillar candles and shells adorned the ceremony setup, while reception tables were draped in elegant gold overlays with pillar candlesticks and topiary and shell arrangements.
The bride was stunning in her mirror and crystal accentuated Nicole Miller by Brilliant Bridal wedding gown. Her all family ‘maids, wore a pallet of muted rose golds, blushes, gunmetals and charcoal grays, including her daughter Kennedy (who nearly stole the show) in a barely blush Tulle skirt and light damask embroidered bodice wearing the brightest smile you’ve ever seen!
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the chic oceanfront bar and lounge while a saxophonist crooned out bluesy tunes to the rhythm of the waves. Dinner, dancing, and an exceptional amount of tequila shots were enjoyed inside as the DJ turned up the heat, just as the heavens let loose a downpour. My favorite part of this wedding was the bride. Not just because she was fun, and easygoing and a wonderful bride to work with, but incidentally, she is my best friend – so we love reminiscing about this very special day, that will always hold such a dear place in my heart.
Happy 2 year Anniversary to the Sextons! ;)
